To Knit or Not to Knit?
It's the Age-Old Crafter's Dilemma: In the Midst of Two Projects, Which do You Pick Up?
I got the reminder by email last week.
The Haddam Historical Society's Winter Woolies Knitting Bee was coming up. A chance to gab with other fiber enthusiasts, share and compare projects? I'm in.
A couple minutes later, the guilt set in. I'd strayed from my onetime love, fickly placed my attentions elsewhere in the past couple months.
Sure, I'd kept up somewhat regular though feeble relations with a secondary project I've been toiling away on for months — an Animal Lovers Transitions Scarf knit in Classic Elite's Inca Print, a fine, rust-colored baby alpaca — but a niggling feeling of infidelity remained.
Time to confess my inconstant heart. I have trifled with the Hip Hop Coat I so dutifully began this summer and knit to near completion in fat coral-colored Debbie Bliss Como.
So, thank you, Winter Woolies, for rekindling our fire.
The next bee is Feb. 6 from 1-3 p.m. at the Thankful Arnold House, 14 Hayden Hill Road, Haddam.
