East Haddam Resident Elected to Middlesex United Way Board
At Middlesex United Way’s Annual Meeting on January 25th, East Haddam resident Cheryl Duey was elected to serve a two-year term on the organization’s Board of Directors.
Cheryl began working for CL&P as a Community Outreach Representative in 1982. She is currently the Director of Transmission Project Community Relations for Northeast Utilities.
In addition to her volunteer service with Middlesex United Way, community activities include serving United Way programs in Greater Hartford, Northwest Connecticut, Greater Waterbury and Middlesex County. She is a past President of the Board of Directors for Safe Haven, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. She also serves on the boards of Operation Fuel and the Middletown Rotary Club.
Duey holds her B.S. degree in Human Services from New Hampshire College School of Human Services and her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Hartford.
Middlesex United Way is a locally-based organization serving the towns of Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Saybrook, Portland, and Westbrook.
